About Excel Academy
Excel Academy has specialized in martial arts since 1993 and has one of the most innovative programs in the nation.
Founded by Master Miguel Valdez, Excel Academy is a traditional Martial Arts school with a curriculum that teaches Tae Kwon Do, American Karate, self-defense, and fitness for children, teens, and adults.
Excel Academy takes a modern approach to teaching traditional Martial Art values. We pride ourselves on providing a safe environment for individuals of all skill levels. Physical fitness is only one of the many benefits our karate programs have to offer.
We teach Martial Arts because we love it — not because we want to make money on you. Our focus is to develop the skills necessary to defend yourself on the streets, establish a physical fitness routine for you, and practice traditional life skills that lead to a life of integrity and focus.
We serve families and people living in the Mid-Cities area including Hurst, Euless, Bedford (HEB) and North Richland Hills. At Excel Academy, we believe that all children are important and have a potential for greatness. We seek to provide our students with the skills they need to be exceptional. Master Valdez runs the Texas X State Karate Championships twice a year. The tournaments are held at the Grace Preparatory Academy in Arlington, TX. Check out http://texasxkaratechampionships.com/ for updated dates and rules for the next Texas X!

My son was in an ATA school before we moved him to Excel. The difference in the quality of the teaching between the two schools is astounding. My son has improved more in one month with Master Valdez than the entire time he was with his old school. This is a school that actually teaches and cares that the kids learn. Master Valdez only tests a kid for a belt when they are ready. You can tell that he, unlike the ATA, is more concerned with a child’s progress than collecting the belt test fee. I love this school, and more importantly my son loves it. Master Valdez is the best teacher. He is absolutely wonderful with the little kids. He teaches them to do their best all the time, not just in class but in all areas of their life. We drive over half an hour to get to Excel and we wouldn’t consider going anywhere else.

The absolute best studio there is. Master Valdez brings out the best in kids. The classes are wonderful, the instruction is clear and well taught!
